7 day break
Here is a little 7 day mixed touring and activity holiday we have
put together for you to demonstrate just a little of how much you
can see and do, and why your time with us will be too short!!
Day 1
Arrive at the inn, chill out, unwind, relax over a leisurely dinner
and a few malts or local ales. Get a good nights sleep ready for
the next day.
Day 2
Get into the spirit of the area with a Heritage tour. Start at
the nearby Bachelors Club, then to Ayr, Alloway and the Burns Heritage
Park. Then head south via the coastal road through Dunure and Dunure
Castle, to fabulous Culzean castle. Return north via soter Johnnies
Cottage at Kirkoswald, past famous Turnberry Hotel, back to Ayr
and Stair.
Day 3
A day ‘on foot’. Perhaps a round of Golf in the morning
at Belleisle (or a ‘warm up 9 holes at Belleisle Seafield
in the morning followed by 18 at the championship course in the
afternoon). Alternatively help us choose a sensational local walk
for you. For the more adventurous – a trip to the Galloway
Hills to climb the Merrick – the highest peak south of Glasgow.
Day 4
A leisurely day tour will take you through Largs to the Erskine
Bridge and onward to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
Return to Glasgow for a spot of shopping, via Aberfoyle, then back
to the Inn.
Day 5
Country sports for the men, shopping for the ladies. Ladies visit
the excellent shops in Ayr in the morning, followed by a spot of
early lunch there, then an afternoon train trip to the superb Buchanan
Galleries in Glasgow. Gentlemen – a day’s river fishing
or shooting we’ll help organise.
Day 6
We highly recommend a day trip to beautiful Galloway, via Kirkcudbright
to the Book Town of Wigtown, then along the Solway coast to Rockcliffe
and Kippford. Stunning!! Get back in good time for an early supper
before contemplating an evening’s entertainment at the cinema
or the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr.
Day 7
On your last day its your choice. Another round of golf perhaps,
this time at glorious Royal Troon, or Kilmarnock Barassie. Something
from the above you didn’t do? A day trip to Arran? Or the
sensational Vikingar Museum at Largs? Then return to the inn for
a ‘taste of Scotland’ farewell dinner.
Day 8
A hearty Scottish breakfast and a fond farewell. Haste ye back!
