Location & Directions
The inn is in a stunning little rural location, 7 miles from Ayr
and Prestwick Airport in Strathclyde, South West Scotland.
Getting to both Ayr and Prestwick Airport is easy. The main A/M77
Glasgow to Stranraer (and the ferries to Northern Ireland) trunk
road skirts both Prestwick and Ayr on the landward side and at the
first roundabout south of the Airport – known as the ‘Whitletts
Roundabout’, take the left turn to Auchincruive Agricultural
College and onward to Mauchline, following the local directions
below(link).
The M77 is easily linked to, south west of Glasgow city centre
off the main M8 Edinburgh motorway which cuts through the centre
of the city.
Prestwick Airport is now Scotland’s leading hub serving Ireland,
London Stansted and Western Europe, courtesy of Ryanair. Car and
van hire is available at the airport as well as a 24 hour taxi rank.
Main rail links are to stations at Prestwick Town and Ayr, both
of which have ½ hourly services to Glasgow and Paisley (for
Glasgow Airport) from 5.45 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. daily
